Former Citizen TV Journalist to open own TV station

The Media Personality is making a come back to the Industry via his own ship

Former Citizen TV Journalist Jimmy Gathu has been given the green light to open and run his own TV station.

An excited Gathu took to his social media to disclose that he has been handed the license to operate his TV Station called .

Last year, the Radio and TV personality was among four people who had applied for broadcast licenses.

In the gazette Notice, the veteran Journalist had requested to be given the mandate to open his own media house.

“The licenses if granted will enable the said applicants to operate and provide services as indicated above their names” said Communication Authority of Kenya Director Francis Wangusi.

The CAK director called on any person objecting to the issuance of the license to send a letter to the Authority within 30 days.

Gathu is one of the media personalities who seems to defy nature by not growing old. We’ve all seen the lad in the youthful days when he first graced our TVs and you can bear me witness he hasn’t changed much.

The TV will be operated under a company called "Jimmy Gathu Incorporated Limited", operating under the wings of the veteran media personality.

Before retiring from media, Gathu worked at KBC, Citizen TV, Nation Media Group , K24, Milele FM and Nation FM.
