For four days (February 16-19) music fans, industry professionals, artists and exhibitors from Eastern Africa and across the continent to countries such as South Africa and Cameroon gathered at the Sarit Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, for the ONGEA! 2017 Music Summit.
The colourful musical extravaganza culminated into a climax in the evenings across the four days from 6.00pm-10.00pm with showcase performances from a total of 29 musicians with support from Protel Studios, MOB Entertainment, Artville Music and PHAT! Productions.

The sassy singer-songwriter gave a stellar performance on the last day of the event wowing fans with her melodious tunes that proved why she is among the very best artists in the country.
H_art the Band
The popular Kenyan band killed it on stage with their electric live performance spanning a myriad genres including reggae, swing, hiphop, kapuka andsamba.
The summit was special for them as they were among the over 400 alumni alumnis of the The Sauti Academy which nurtures and develops singer's talent to enable them to start and sustain a professional musical career.
Phy
The Maisha Superstar Season 1 Winner gave an amazing performance with the highlight being a rendition of her popular hit song Taboo (taabu).
Buula
Brian Mugenyi aka Buula, a saxophonist from Uganda, with an unmatched talent in music gave the crowd a rare taste of a different genre with his skills on the saxophone.
He is currently living in Nairobi, Kenya and was one of the acts at last year's 2016 ONGEA! Summit.
Disco Vumbi
Disco Vumbi combined a sweet mixture of benga and electro music to create an authentic Kenyan sound inspired by music of the 1960s and 70s that left many fans wanting for more.
Macase
The popular band from Yaoundé travelled all the way from Cameroon and entertained fans with a unique sound dubbed ‘Bantu Groove’, which fuses international influences and Cameroon’s local rhythms.
The group astounded the crowd when they even gave a performance in Kiswahili.
