NRG Radio presenter and singer Diamond Platnumz’s girlfriend Tanasha Donna has responded to claims that she was pretending not to know Swahili, during her Wasafi FM interview.
In a series of posts she shared on Instagram, Ms Donna said that she got shy from speaking Swahili in Tanzania because it’s their language, and they are way better than her.
She went on to say that there were many people watching from all over the world and she wanted them to understand what she was saying.

Tanasha added that Tanzanians read too much into things that do not matter at all.
“So when I speak less Swahili than I did in a previous interview, I have maringo and I’ve changed. Can I be multilingual outchea please? Damn. Also with all the attention I’m getting now compared to before, I honestly get shy to speak a language in a country where their vocabulary is WAY BETTER than mine. I speak SWA and I’m PROUD, but is it wrong for me to mix both swa and English bruh! Y’all also forgetting I’m keeping in mind that there’s people from all over the globe watching so I’d want them to understand what I’m saying as well… I’m considering everyone hence why I posted saying everyone watching intentionally could watch live on YouTube. People look way too much into things man,” wrote Ms Donna.

Pretending
Her words came after her Tanzanian fans claimed she was pretending during the interview in which she mostly responded to questions in English.
The fans shared an old video of Tanasha getting interviewed by Millard Ayo where she responded to all questions in Swahili.
