A woman who made history for being the first female Somali immigrant to become a police officer got arrested.

24-year-old Zahra Abu of Portland, Maine, was arrested at a concert in Massachusetts on Saturday night.

Abu was charged with assault and battery, trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace, according to Portland police Chief Michael Sauschuck.

Abu has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Acting unruly

Abu was arrested during the concert featuring Ja Rule and Ashanti because she was “acting unruly and pushing people,” police said.

She was asked to leave numerous times, and when she refused, police were called and she was arrested.

Abu made headlines in 2016 when she became the first member of the Somali immigrant community in Maine to become a police officer in the state.

Abu was born in a Kenyan refugee camp and moved to Maine with her family when she was 2-years-old. She graduated from Deering High School and the University of Southern Maine.
