A study conducted by scientists at the Copenhagen Studies on Asthma in Childhood Research showed that toddlers who grew up with cat developed genes that helped strengthen resistance to respiratory diseases.

Because we needed one more reason to love cats, Danish scientists have uncovered key facts that show owning a cat is beneficial to your child’s health.

The diseases include Asthma, Pneumonia and Bronchitis.

Sadly, dogs didn’t show the same immunity benefits as cats did. Maybe cats rule? This is a major difference between keeping cats and dogs.

A gene named TT is responsible for these diseases and prolonged exposure to cats makes the gene become inactive.

The results of the study were released a week towards World Pneumonia day which is being observed this Monday.
