The other day, I went to watch
She was trussed up in this long African print kimono and an African print hat which appeared to have been inspired by Nigeria's Yoruba tribe's Fila hat.
She threw the kimono over a simple tee and black pants and completed the look with simple sneakers. Anyway enough about the look lol. So me being me, I needed to know where she got the kimono as I need to cop myself one and so I got searching. It didn't take me long to find out who's the brains behind these stunning kimonos and ponchos. They say good things come in small packages and Wangari Mathenge maybe petite as hell but she sure does come packed with talent.
Wangari makes ponchos and kimonos for both men and women or unisex if you like. The prints and fabrics she uses range from kikoy to tribal prints, bright to earthy tones. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Kimonos can be worn on a cold day as a throw over, as a bikini cover up by the beach, and they pull a double duty from day to night all you gotta do is swap your flats for heels an you're night out ready. You can also style your kimono differently by say adding a belt over it or accessorizing with hats, bracelets etc.
These are definitely a wardrobe must have and they have a stamp of approval from us.
