But neither of those appearances matched the pure game-for-anything goofiness of his cameo on this weeks SNL. The sketch featured host Chance the Rapper as Judge Barry, the no-nonsense adjudicator of First Impressions Court, where he promised to deliver a verdict in 10 seconds or less. After a series of SNL players helped set up the premiseJudge Barry decides guilt or innocence based on his first impressions, naturallyin strutted Momoa.
He arrived in a leopard-print jacket, defiantly flipping his long locks of hair as he burst through the courtroom doors. Apollo Benz is a former live-in nurse and male gigolo accused of stealing cash from Kate McKinnons character, an older woman; Momoa also seemed to be bringing the haughtiness of Melania Trump to the role. The muffed line reading lead Momoa to claim that he knows the law, and that McKinnon stole from him first. What did she steal? His heart.
