I would love one, Crews, who starred in the original, told the magazine. Im staying in shape for White Chicks 2...I will never, ever get out of shape because that movies going to happen one day.
The original film, far more successful at the than with , starred Marlon and Shawn Wayans as a pair of FBI agents who go undercover as...well, white chicks...to solve a kidnapping case. Crews starred in a supporting role as a basketball player who falls in love with one of their alter-egos. It was a gleefully stupid movie, almost admirable in its commitment to its ludicrous central gag.
A sequel has been rumored for at least ten years.
In 2009, it was that Sony Pictures had greenlighted the project, with Shawn, Marlon and Keenen Wayans returning, but it never got off the ground. Marlon Wayans talked about the project again in 2014, telling the that a White Chicks sequel is a must.
Well find a way to get it done, he said.
Then, during an appearance on MTVs TRL last March, he said that there had been some rumblings happening and that he and his brothers had been talking about the project.
So if things go right, he said, we hope to do a White Chicks 2.
Not much had been said about the possible project until Crews sounded off on it to Us Weekly, and while the sequel still seems far from definite, the actors comments suggest he and his co-stars are adamant about turning the 2004 flick into a franchise.
I will be 75 and say, Here we go, Im ready to go, Crews said.
