Who won The Amazing Race last season?
The last season of The Amazing Race-Season 30-was won by the team of Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf. The couple had previously competed on Season 19 of Big Brother (where they met and initially became a couple), and were the very first team announced for Amazing Race's 30th go-around. Nickson, from Plano, Texas, and Graf, from Los Angeles, come from obviously different backgrounds, but their shared experiences helped them wind up victorious and win the million-dollar prize.
How did they win?
Nickson and Graf essentially won The Amaazing Race by playing the long game. The duo never placed below sixth in any leg of the race, and on average placed second-good enough to stick around and eventually come away victorious in the end. At one point, the team (#TeamBigBrother, as they were referred), were U-Turned by Lucas and Brittany, which momentarily put their season hopes on the ropes. But they managed to arrive at the pit stop before Eric and Daniel Guiffreda, which saved their chances and allowed them to continue on in the competition.
For most of the final leg of the race, Graf and Nickson were in second place. They managed to pull ahead and win the entire thing when Graf completed the Road Block Challenge before the two other teams that remained in competition.
Who Were The Runners-Up?
The two pairs of runners-up for Season 30 were Team Yale, made up of debate team compettitors Henry Zhang and Evan Lynak, and also Team Extreme, composed of professional freestyle skiers Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak.
What are the winners up to since last season?
Quite a bit. Nickson and Graf have taken their relationship to the next level-they got married last fall, and welcomed their first child (via an emergency caesarian section procedure, which she discussed on her podcast-more on that below) in March 2019. The couple's plans for their Amazing Race prize money-after taxes are taken out, of course-is to move to Dallas and buy a house.
