Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has sent a message of condolence to the family of two currently serving Members of Parliament (MPs).
The two MPs - Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang' and Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang' - lost their father, Mzee Ajwang Nyakwamba.
In his message to the family, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader noted that the late patriarch had been his close friend.
"I have lost a precious friend, Mzee Ajwang Nyakwamba, father to Otieno Kajwang, TJ Kajwang and Moses Kajwang. I am deeply saddened by his death but grateful for having known and shared precious moments with him.

"Mzee Ajwang exemplified the dignity of Luo traditions that many were running from. He led a polygamous family where children never cared who their biological mothers were," the former PM stated.
He added that the late Ajwang had also been a respected member of society.
"He was a respected community leader, educationist and Church elder recognized as such by all. Ajwang effortlessly married Luo and Christian traditions when everyone else viewed the two as incompatible. Rest In Peace my friend," he wrote.

Condolence Messages
Fellow politicians from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) showed solidarity with the Kajwang' brothers with messages of condolence at the passing of their father.
ODM deputy party leader and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya wrote: " My deepest condolences to Homa Bay Senator my friend Hon @senatorkajwang and family following the death of their family patriarch Mzee David Ajwang' Nyakwamba. May the soul of Mzee rest in eternal peace."
Siaya Senator James Orengo posted: "A great leader & teacher, you gave Kenya patriots in the name of Gerald Otieno Kajwang', T.J. Kajwang', & @senatorkajwang. Exceptional legacy. As we mourn I cannot hesitate to say, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Rest in eternal peace Jaduong' Ajwang' Nyakwamba."
Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka condoled: "Mwalimu David Ajwang Nyakwamba was a disciplinarian, consummate educationist & a respected leader in his community. He leaves behind a rich & indelible legacy. May the Lord grant @senatorkajwang, Hon TJ Kajwang & their entire family strength to bear with the immense pain."
