Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna announced that all public servants have been banned from non-essential travel to countries affected by coronavirus (Covid-19).
Oguna, in a statement, advised the public to also avoid undertaking any non-essential travel.
A statement by Oguna read: “Today the President met with the National Emergency Response Committee to receive a progress report on the implementation of key preparedness and response measures are undertaken so far.”

Reported cases of Coronavirus in Africa
In a bid to combat the spread of the deadly Covid-19, the government also announced a ban on all international gatherings in the country for 30 days.
The announcement was made by Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, stating: “The government has, with immediate effect, banned all meetings, conferences and events of international nature in Kenya.”

As at March 12, the cases of Coronavirus in Africa had been recorded as follows; Egypt (60), Algeria (20), South Africa (13), Tunisia (7), Morocco (6), Senegal (4), Cameroon (2), Burkina Faso (2) Nigeria (2) Togo (1), Congo (1) and Cote d'Ivoire (1).
