A tragic accident along the Londiani-Muhoroni road has claimed three lives with 44 others rushed to hospital for treatment.
The accident which happened on Saturday, January 11 involved a bus that was ferrying passengers from Mombasa to Busia.
The bus, christened Dreamline, is reported to have lost control at Nukiat area on the Londiani-Muhoroni road in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Witnesses recounted that the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle while attempting to manouvre a bend.
Confirming the accident, area OCPD Agnes Kunga noted that the injured were rushed to Londiani Sub-county Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Londiani Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Driver detained
Following the accident, heavy traffic was witnessed along the busy highway with police moving in to control traffic.

The driver of the bus was among those rushed to hospital for treatment before being taken in by police.
He was later detained at Londiani Police Station for grilling.
Tragic accidents
The accident adds to a growing number of tragic road accidents reported this year.
Nine people lost their lives on Friday, January 03 following a devastating head-on collision between a shuttle and a lorry near Soi shopping centre on the Eldoret-Kitale highway.
Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed the incident, stating that the collision occurred at around 9:30 a.m.
According to preliminary investigations, the lorry heading to Kitale lost control and collided with the oncoming matatu heading to Eldoret.
