Emotions run high as 4 abductees reunite with families after 2 weeks [VIDEO]

In an emotional reunion, Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, Bernard Kavuli and Ronny Kiplagat embraced their families after weeks of uncertainty following their abductions by individuals believed to be linked to security agencies. 

Tears flowed freely as Mwangi hugged his relieved mother, marking the end of a harrowing ordeal for the family.

He was at a barbershop in Embu town, waiting to be shaved, when four hooded men burst in and forcibly abducted him. 

Witnesses reported that the men mishandled Mwangi before bundling him into a vehicle and driving off.

His father, who was devastated by the incident, immediately reported the matter to the authorities. For weeks, the family lived in anguish, with no word about his whereabouts.

Peter Muteti's Disappearance

Peter Muteti’s abduction occurred on the same day, December 21, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m. in Uthiru, Nairobi. 

He was reportedly heading out to buy breakfast when armed men, including one wearing a police uniform, seized him outside his apartment.

Witnesses identified the vehicle used in the abduction as having the registration number KCF 035M.

Muteti’s disappearance came shortly after a controversial social media post he made about President William Ruto. 

Muteti's family has reported that the young man seems quite disoriented and unable to give any media interviews.

Bernard Kavuli

Bernard Kavuli who was abducted on December 22, 2024, has also been found in Kitale.

He was abducted at a petrol station in Ngong town by four armed men, an incident linked to his social media activities that included criticism of the government and discussions about the 2007 post-election violence in Kenya.

His abduction occurred shortly after he engaged in controversial discussions on social media platforms, making him one of several individuals targeted around that time

Ronny Kiplagat, brother to Kibet Bull, was found in Machakos after being abducted outside the Kikuyu Seventh-day Adventist Church on December 21, 2024.

A Pattern of Enforced Disappearances?

The incidents have reignited concerns about the growing trend of enforced disappearances in Kenya, allegedly involving security agencies. 

Leaders and human rights groups have been calling for investigations into such cases, urging the government to uphold the rule of law and protect citizens’ freedoms.

The other individuals who are still missing include cartoonist Kibet Bull and Steve Mbisi
