Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has alleged a sinister plot to reduce the number of registered voters in Mount Kenya region after his fallout with President William Ruto.
Speaking at a Church service in Naivasha, Gachagua challenged the President to tour the region, alleging that further delay is only making things worse as the anger in the region is boiling with many questions.
According to Gachagua, Ruto is intentionally facilitating alcoholism, with instructions to high-ranking government officials to allow what he termed as poison to residents as a means of decreasing the number of registered voters in the region.
The Interior Security PS was instructed by the President to reopen all those alcohol factories, and they were urged to sell the alcohol exclusively in Mount Kenya. It is not sold in Rift Valley or anywhere else. Yesterday, three people died in Bahati.
Gachagua on why he was pushed out of govt & the consequences
The former DP claimed that he was pushed out of government as he was the only person speaking truth to power and such could not fit in the government.

He added that under his leadership, the battle against illicit liquor was on the verge of being won but the trend has only gotten worse.
Since they forced me out of office, the President has ordered all the illicit alcohol that kills people to be brought here to destroy our young people. Police and chiefs have been instructed to allow people to continue drinking the deadly alcohol, so the number of registered voters decreases.
He lamented that targeting a community for possible extinction through the sale of illicit liquor is simply unacceptable and God will not allow the same to happen.
It is immoral; it is unacceptable to target a community for destruction and extinction through the sale of poison to them. It is entirely possible to end the war on alcoholism because I had already achieved it.
Notably, Gachagua did not back any of his claims, with the clergy allowing him to make the controversial remarks.
Gachagua slams Ruto over abusive language & development
He also slammed the president for what he called unbecoming language, laced in abuses as has been the case with the president referring to those opposed to the planned nationwide vaccination of livestock.
Gachagua noted that the same humility that the President demonstrated when looking for votes is the same one he should embody when he returns to have a conversation with the residents.
