Detectives summon Governor Obado's wife over Sharon Otieno's murder

Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s wife is expected to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over the murder of Sharon Otieno, the Rongo University who was kidnapped alongside Nation journalist Barrack Oduor.

Hellen Obado was reportedly summoned by DCI boss George Kinoti and is set to appear at the headquarters on Kiambu road.

This comes days after her husband Migori County boss was interrogated by detectives over the brutal murder of Sharon, who was seven months pregnant.

Obado confessed to having a love affair with the second-year student but maintained that the paternity of the baby would be determined after DNA test.

The Governor also denied any involvement in the murder of the 26-year-old in a press conference, where he paraded his wife and two children.

Mrs. Obado has since sent her condolences message to Sharon’s family.

“I today, accompanied my beloved husband to issue a statement concerning the death of Sharon Otieno. We sent our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Sharon Otieno. Thank you and May God bless you all and may Sharon's soul rest in paradise,” she said after the press conference.
