The family of slain Monica Kimani has has finally broken silence and disclosed details of her relationship with her alleged murderer Joe Irungu.

He later on met Joe after he became friends with his sister through social media.

George further divulged that his sister did not have a romantic relationship with the suspect despite hanging out together several times, because Monica had declined Joe's advances.

Murdered

Ms. Monica was found murdered with a deep cut on her throat at Luciane Apartments on Kitale Lane off Denis Pritt Road where she was staying after efforts by her mother and brother to reach her on phone went unanswered.

Monica Kimani was scheduled to meet her family that morning after landing from South Sudan.

The Police then launched investigations into the murder of Monica Kimani which led to the arrest of Joe Irungu on Tuesday.

Maribe questioned

Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe, who is Joe Irungu’s fiancé was questioned by the police after she admitted to driving her boyfriend to Nairobi West hospital on Friday, with a gunshot wound.

Reports indicated that the news anchor was also questioned to corroborate her boyfriend’s story.
