The Limuru Country Club has closed its clubhouse after a fire razed it down on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The fire broke out at dawn at around 3:30 am, destroying property valued at millions.
A statement released by the club's Chairman, John Keru confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
He confirmed that no staff, members, or guests were at the clubhouse at the time of the incident.

Videos of the show huge balls of fire engulfing the iconic building with fire marshals racing against time to put out the fire.
Witnesses recounted hearing loud explosions believed to be liquefied petroleum gas within the facility.
Investigations have been launched to establish the cause of the fire with the management announcing temporary closure of the clubhouse and promising to provide updates on investigations as well as timeline for reopening.

Limuru Country Club: History & what is on offer
The iconic Limuru Country Club is a private Members’ club that was established in 1945 by colonial settlers to cater for the needs of the elite of the time.
