The National Police Service has issued a surprise statement hours after a video went viral of Kirinyaga County Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri Njagi who was caught in a compromising situation allegedly with another mans wife.

In a statement, the police said they had not received any report concerning an alleged assault of the Deputy Governor of Kirinyaga County, in Kakamega.

The police denied the police spokesperson had issued any statement concerning the the same.

Strange video

"The video and the statement circulating in sections of the social media on the same issue is strange to the Police. Investigations are underway to arrest the author and present him/her before court," the statement read in part.

There was a huge uproar on social media following the circulation of the video with many calling for his resignation following the shameful act.

However, others took to social media saying that it was wrong for Kenyans to circulate the video even though the situation was shameful from a person holding public office.
