Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s cousin has vowed to challenge High Court decision upholding the win of Nyali MP and former Jicho Pevu investigative journalist Mohammed Ali.
Speaking on Sunday, Said Abdalla who contested against Ali for the Parliamentary seat, stated that he will be moving to the Court of Appeal.
Saido, as he is popularly known, stated that he was waiting to get the copy of the full ruling before appealing. He added that he was not satisfied with the orders issued by Lady Justice Lydia Achode.
In the ruling Judge Achode ordered Saido to pay election costs totaling Sh7 million.
Joho’s cousin had moved to challenge the former journalist’s win stating that the election was marred by irregularities.
However, Justice Achode threw out the petition noting that the evidence was not enough to support the claims.
Speaking after the judgment Mr. Ali accused Joho and his cousin of witch hunting.
