State House Comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua was on Tuesday issued with a summons to appear before the Public Accounts Committee.
The MPs took the drastic action after Mbugua failed to appear for a panel meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday.
The State House official was invited to answer audit queries on expenditures at the Presidency.
Budget Cuts at DP William Ruto's office
Earlier in the month, a Daily Nation report indicated that Deputy President William Ruto's office had suffered some budget cuts which left some staff allowances unpaid.
The report was, however, dismissed by DP Ruto's spokesman David Mugonyi and close allies of the DP.
"I don’t think there is a calculated move to cut the money flow to DP’s office. Even MPs are yet to receive CDF (National Government Constituency Development Fund) money seven months into the government financial year.
"They have only managed to send Sh10 million per constituency (as opposed to about Sh100 million). It can be a bigger problem in government on money flows and it is not necessarily in the presidency," Soi MP Caleb Kositany explained.
By December 2018, Auditor General Edward Ouko had flagged the presidency for failing to sufficiently account for Sh2.7 billion expenditure.
