Baringo Senator Gideon Moi on Sunday spent the night in a remove village called Mulwanda – surprising not only the villagers, but also his father.

Gideon told the villagers that after Mzee Daniel arap Moi heard that his son would spend the night in the sleepy village, he remarked that his son had matured politically.

Philip Arunga

“When Mzee Moi heard that I would sleep here, he told me that I have matured in politics since Khwisero people never voted for him. You have been friendly to me and I will come back to bring development projects to the area,” the younger Moi said.

The Kanu Chairman was hosted by Philip Arunga, his childhood friend and younger brother of former Khwisero MP Julius Arunga.

He later took an early morning seven-kilometer walk to Sabatia village where he mingled with villagers, while donating money to help them with various challenges.

Boda Boda Ride

The Senator had earlier attended a harambee before addressing a crowd at Kakamega bus stage – accompanied by Musalia Mudavadi, Siaya Senator James Orengo and Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.

Gideon recently grabbed national headlines after he rode a boda boda to a funeral in Murang’a -confessing that it was the first time in his life he had been ferried with the two-wheeled motorcycle that is part of everyday life for most Kenyans.
