Barely three days after a source close to D'banj and his wife, Lineo Didi Kilgrow, dislosed to LIB that the couple is expecting their first child together, the music star has shared a very telling Instagram post.

The Koko Master shared a photo on Friday, May 26, of the hands of a newborn baby clutching his gold necklace, writing: "#KingDonCome The Christening of @danieldthird ."

At this point, it is hard to believe that the couple have not welcomed said child.

According to earlier reports, D'banj has been in the US with his wife who was reportedly awaiting the birth of their baby.

Although the singer's rep, Franklin, <a href="http://pulse.ng/celebrities/dbanj-pop-stars-rep-denies-pregnancy-report-id6731309.html" id="8077b63f-387b-5569-8374-6281a6f84b5a">disputed the claims</a>, saying that the "information is not correct at all," we wonder if that was simply a ploy to keep us in the dark.

<h1>Nigerian guys spend a lot on football betting every weekend but not as much as Kenyan guys.</h1>

According to a survey by GeoPoll, Kenyan youths place more bets on sports than youths from any sub-Saharan country in Africa.

Six countries featured in the survey, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya. It involved young people from the ages of 17-35.

Kenyans within this age bracket bet once a week and spend $50 doing so. That's N15,000 every week. Millennials in Nigeria spend less every week hoping to win the jackpot.

The odd thing about millennials betting in Kenya is that most of them never get $50 back or more from betting.

At the other end, our neighbours Ghana has the least number of young people who bet on sports. Surprisingly, South Africa has the lowest use of mobile phones for sports betting.

Sports betting or specifically football betting is very popular among millennials in Nigeria. It is one of the get-rich-quick schemes that young people patronise.

Every weekend, young Nigerians place bets on football matches in Europe, some in obscure countries like Lithuania. For some, watching football is no longer pure entertainment but an investment.

At the 2010 World Cup, football betting companies sprang up to cash in on the football fever that gripped the country. A few years later companies like Naira Bet have established themselves as multi-million Naira organisations.

Eko Hotel &amp; Suites (our own Staples Centre) was once again the venue that put together the gods and goddesses of Nollywood, Olu Jacobs, Richard Mofe Damijo, Rita Dominic together with up and coming talents such as Somkele Iyamah and Sambasa Nzeribe.

The AMVCA started as scheduled- 7pm. The hall wasn’t filled to capacity but that’s because of Nigerians showing up late for everything and not the lack of proper planning by the organizers.

The folks at Africa Magic and Multi Choice put up a solid show that ran smoothly. Every bit of the awards was timed to perfection from musical performances to the awards presentation. The only time the awards dragged was when some winners took more than 30 seconds to deliver their speeches.

There were only three noticeable glitches during the presentation, when one of the big AMVCA trophies on stage fell loudly, when the VLC player interface appeared on the main screen on stage and the mix up during the nominees for Best Director.

Considering how bad award shows are in Nigeria, these glitches are pardonable.

The biggest highlight of the night was when actor Nkem Owoh got a standing ovation after Chika Okpala (popularly known as Chief Zebrudaya) revealed that the Osuofia actor was a script writer for The New Masquerade. The brilliant actor got a 30 second ovation when this hidden fact was revealed.

Rita Dominic skipped the obligatory tear jerking speech (ad nauseam!) to drive home the importance of why history should be taught in Nigerian schools.

The 5th edition of the AMVCA did what he had to do- celebrate the best of African films, reward the talents who worked the hardest, with proper planning and execution.

When people are serious about what they want to do- there won’t be excuses only results.

The AMVCA showed once again it is possible to have an award ceremony in Nigeria that is not an over glorified secondary school award show.

It was a night of professionalism and near perfection

The pressure to deliver for men in relationships doesn't get any more real than on Valentine's Day- a day created in honour of a saint but hijacked by greedy corporations.

The pressure is much more intensified in Nigeria where most relationships are transactional in nature. I entered a commercial bus once and I overheard a lady tell her friend who was beside her that she was going to start a fight with her boyfriend if he doesn't give her money to fix her hair.

That was an audio snapshot of most love relationships in Nigeria. When Valentine's Day comes around these relationships are evaluated based on the gifts given.

What makes this Valentine's Day worse is because of the recession Nigeria is in. The economy is in a bad shape and the price of goods and commodities have doubled and in some cases tripled.

The standard chocolate and teddy bear wouldn't have broken the bank of an average guy but in 2017 you might frown a little when you see your debit alert on your phone.

Some men might not be able to afford to take bae out on Val's Day. It's not his fault, it's the recession but the expectation is that you must deliver no matter what the Naira to Dollar rate is. Love is no respecter of Nigeria's economy.

Times are hard but love isn't essentially easy in these parts. As Joey Akan, the Editor of Music at Pulse tweeted early this year that when you tell a Nigerian babe that you love her, you already owe her money. This might have been a funny tweet and also hilariously extreme, but there is some truth to it.

Valentine's Day is judgement day for many relationships. If the gift gotten by the guy (let's not front it is usually the guy) doesn't match up to his babe's expectations then there is trouble in the Garden of Eden. If you are lucky, then hey let's just say it's going down that night.

It's ironic that love which is meant to be timeless is judged on one particular day.

This Val's Day a lot of hearts will be broken and relationships will be called off thanks to the recession that won't allow men deliver as usual.

This year guys will be more pressurised to deliver as the recession plays a deciding factor.

<h1>Politics is not a laughing matter but dont tell</h1>

Know as Tiko Tiko the clown, Carrillo is running for political office. Tiko Tiko is the candidate for the Ecuadorian Socialist Party. He is vying for a spot in the National Assembly. He is the third candidate for the second district in Guayaquil.

Tiko Tiko is a famous clown in Ecuador. His career began in the 1970s. His programmes and commentary on child issues have made him relevant till today.

Carrillo isn't originally from Ecuador. He was born in Colombia but later secured Ecuadorian nationality. "I was born in Bogota and Tiko Tiko was born in Guayaquil," he told The Universe in 2008.

Tiko Tiko is so famous and his influence far-reaching that he usually features in the weekly address of President Rafael Correa.

British comedian John Oliver mocked Correa for featuring a clown in his weekly addresses. His criticism got a lot of backlash among Ecuadorians including President Rafael Correa.

Tiko Tiko also got into the action. He penned an op-ed piece in a newspaper and said that clowns have a right to participate in the political affairs of a country.

In 2013, Tiko Tiko, however, said: "I do not get into politics." Despite what he said three years ago, the clown has thrown his hat into the ring. If he wins, he will have to adjust to a new line of business where jokes are not allowed.

Onochie who should be in Aso Rock composing tweets and Facebook posts for the Buhari-led government seems to have given herself a new job description.

The Personal Assistant to the President has been very vocal in her attack against the protest which was originally spearheaded by 2face Idibia. Her partisan opinions and lack of objectivity are troubling for someone so close to the top tier of the government.

When 2face Idibia announced that he was no longer part of the protest, she said the singer had "done the right thing" and labelled the rally as a PDP protest. Shouldn't someone who works with the President be neutral in a time like this.

Lauretta Onochie, during the debate if 2face Idibia should lead a protest was one of the leading figures who attacked the singer and the protest online. Her statements are divisive and do not reflect her position in this administration.

During an interview with Channels TV on Sunday, January 5, 2017 she said that Nigeria is not the only country going through a recession. That's an insensitive statement at this period. Her statement is eerily similar to Goodluck Jonathan's statement that terrorism is a worldwide phenomenon and it is Nigeria's turn. If her statement is to be taken seriously, then unfortunately this administration has lost touch with the people it claims to serve.

Let's forget how divisive and partisan some of her utterances are. Her Twitter bio is more troubling. "Passionate About Good Governance And "  is clearly written on her Twitter bio.

One of the main focus of the Buhari administration is to tackle corruption. I am not sure President Buhari wants to settle with bringing corruption to a manageable level in Nigeria.

If Lauretta Onochie is indicative of the people in Aso Rock, then we as Nigerians have a few things to think about. It is high time that people in the Presidency act ans speak responsibly.

Lauretta Onochie should conduct herself in a manner befitting of someone in the Presidency.

In a time like this, the President's PA actions are troubling

Nigerian student, Imelme Umana, class of Harvard Law School ’18, has been elected as the President of the Harvard Law Review. This makes her the first black woman to attain this position.

According to to the website Clutch, Umana is a PhD candidate "interested in the intersection between government and African American studies by exploring how stereotypes of black women are reproduced and reinforced in American political discourse."

The Harvard Law Review is a pretty huge deal. Barack Obama was elected the first black President of Harvard Law Review in 1990.

Harvard Law Review is a law review independent of Harvard Law School. It published its first review in 1887. The Alumni of the Harvard Law Review included President of the United States, Supreme Court Justices, cabinet secretaries amongst others.

Imelme Umana however isn't the first Nigerian to attain this lofty position. Adebayo Ogunlesi, Chairman and and managing partner of Global Infrastructure Partners is the first Nigerian to be voted the President of the Harvard Law Review.

On Thursday, January 5, 2017, Barack Obama wrote the lead article in the Harvard Law Review. Titled "The President’s Role in Advancing Criminal Justice Reform" the article is 56 pages with 317 footnotes.

In an article titled 'How to become a congressman' Jay Z, Beyonce and Obama were whitewashed. A Beyonce fan Twitter account shared a photo of the original picture and the whitewashed picture.

The tweet posted on Sunday, January 22, 2017, quickly became viral and drew criticisms and backlash online.

After thousands of retweets, WikiHow apologised for the whitewashed photo.

"When we saw the whitewashed image of Obama, Jay-Z and Beyonce, we were disgusted and ashamed. It should never have been on wikiHow" read the statement.

"Within minutes of the first tweet, a volunteer removed the image. We then started investigating how it got on wikiHow at all."

The whitewashed picture was made three years ago by a team of one sketcher and one painter. According to WikiHow, the sketcher sent the painter a black and white sketch. The painter did not know the race of the people in the sketch.

"This doesn't excuse the fact that we hosted a terrible image on wikiHow and we needed more diversity on that article" the statement further added.

Believe it or not but some girls change into boys when they approach puberty. These kids who undergo this transformation are called 'Guevedoces' which literally means 'penis at twelve'.

How is this possible? How do girls become boys suddenly? This is as a result of a rare genetic disorder. The enzyme necessary for the production of a male sex hormone called dihydrotestosterone in the womb goes missing.

Dihydrotestosterone is produced by male babies when they are eight weeks in the womb which turns their tubercles into penises.

In Salinas, many male babies are born without dihydrotestosterone which is necessary for the development of the penis. At birth, they look like girls with what appears to be a vagina.

It is however at puberty that what was supposed to happen in the womb finally kicks off due to the immense boost of testosterone. With the boost, male reproductive organs start to appear.

Johnny who lives in Salina was initially a girl but when puberty appeared his male organs appeared, and now he is a boy.

"I remember I used to wear a little red dress. I was born at home instead of in a hospital. They didn’t know what sex I was.

“I went to school and I used to wear my skirt. I never liked to dress as a girl. When they bought me girls toys I never bothered playing with them. All I wanted to do was play with the boys" Johnny told Telegraph.

For Johnny, the change came early, at the age of 7. "When I changed I was happy with my life."

This gender change is no longer strange to the inhabitants of the village. In Sambian villages of Papua New Guinea, this sex change occurs too but the boys who undergo this change are not accepted with open hearts. They are seen as flawed men.

This phenomenon of gender switch has led to the creation of a drug that is now used in the treatment of enlarged prostates and male pattern baldness.

For thousands of years, the prevailing belief is that men cheat more than women. It has been ingrained in our thought patterns by literature, music, TV and the society we live in. Men are portrayed as sex-hungry animals who are always on the hunt for it.

This notion is quickly changing as more women are coming out to say cheating is natural to them too.

A Nigerian woman on Facebook, Nkechi Bianze, shared an interesting post on her account on Monday, January 23, 2017.

In her post, she stated that women are as polygamous as men too. You can read her post below;

"Guys need to understand that women are polygamous in nature, most especially Nigerian women. It is in the nature of women to cheat.

A recent survey reported that 62% of Nigerian women are unfaithful. That's to tell you that it's in the nature of women, most especially Nigerian women to cheat.

Cheating or not is at the discretion of the wife! If as a man you find a woman who doesn't cheat on you, then you are just lucky. But stop giving yourself unnecessary heartache checking her phones and keeping a prying eye on her.

If your wife cheats on you, it doesn't mean that she doesn't love you. A woman can love and respect you but still cheat on you. It just means that she wants to explore.

As long as she still respects you by at least being discreet with her sexcapades, and still plays her roles as a wife, I see no reason why you should get worked up over it. I mean, it's not like the vagina is going to disappear or change in colour and shape.

It is stupidity to divorce your wife just because she cheats on you. How many do you want to marry? The next woman might even be worse.

And remember that according to the Bible, if you decide to divorce your wife for any reason at all, you are expected to remain celibate for life, or till she dies.

I hope God gives our men the wisdom to understand that cheating is NOT enough reason to divorce their wives or even complain at all.

Her interesting post surely got a lot of people riled up but Nkechi Bianze isn't that far off from the truth. Women cheat just as much as men if not even more.

, the hit HBO show did a lot in exposing the reality of things concerning women and monogamy.

The lead character of the show Issa cheated on her faithful boyfriend with her ex. Twitter was in flames when this episode aired. A lot of people are still stuck in the matrix that perpetuates women are monogamous creatures. Issa lie (no pun intended).

We hear more stories of men cheating because women tend to be more expressive about things such as love and relationships. They value the sanctity of a relationship more than men.

So when a boyfriend or a husband cheats, the agony from a woman will spill from her fingers and lips. She will tell her friends and share/tweet/retweet clues that the exclusivity of her relationship has been broken.

Women don't cheat and the ones who do are whores. This is what old men have fed young men and boys for centuries and this foolish belief still runs till today.

It's because of this thinking that men crash and burn when they get cheated on. Their world goes up in smoke. They just can't believe their little angel stepped outside to have sex. It is against everything that they have known.

Forget the bubble you are in, men in relationships get cheated on a lot. One of the reasons why we don't hear these stories on social media platforms is because men internalise pain. We are not as expressive as women.

Another reason is that most men don't know they are being cheated on. Women have been conditioned to look for cheating clues because they have been brought up to believe that all men cheat. Men do not see these clues because we have been taught the opposite.

When a man gets cheated on, he tells a few of his boys, internalises the pain till he gets over it. It's rare to see a guy rant on social media when this happens. Also, coming out to say your girl cheated on takes away the perception that your masculinity is potent and strong.

Men and women have the same sexual urges. Family upbringing and societal conditioning have clouded this fact. The way a man deals with cheating is different from a woman's response.

Women cheat like men. This is not an alternative fact. This is the truth but it is going to take a pretty long time before it is universally accepted.

Cheating is not only a man's game. Women cheat too and even better.

Women are more guilty than men

Today, Tuesday, January 24, 2017, I had the pleasure of reading a Facebook post written by veteran broadcaster Femi Sowoolu on why Big Brother Naija is taking place in South Africa.

Mr Sowoolu in his Facebook post titled 'The New Reality: Fake It!' blasted DSTV for shooting <a href="http://pulse.ng/search/?q=Big%20Brother%20Naija" id="4a3d1368-8331-5dd7-af4b-a659b0ecc3b7">Big Brother Naija</a> in South Africa.

"Smacks of ridicule, discrimination, utter disrespect, and blatant disregard for Nigeria and all Nigerians. It is a nasty slap on the industry and potential of the Nigerian professional who still excels among peers, despite all, and any manner of niggling societal or operational odds" wrote the veteran.

His sentiments echo those of many Nigerians who were angered that the reality show is being produced in South Africa. They felt it was a slap in the face of Nigerians.

Now, this is where I have to add my 2 Kobo on this matter. Dear Nigerians, you feel too entitled over nothing. DSTV shooting Big Brother Naija is a perfectly rational decision.

Last year, I had the opportunity of interviewing Obi Asika who produced the first edition of Big Brother Naija (then known as Big Brother Nigeria) and he revealed to me that MNET bankrolled the show singlehandedly and it cost them $3m.

The cost to produce the show was so expensive because of the production crew and equipment that had to be brought into the country.

In 2014, Uti Nwachukwu hosted Star, The Winner Is..., another Nigerian show produced in South Africa.

When asked by journalists why this show wasn't produced in Nigeria, Uti said the cost of production would have been too much if it was done here.

I am not privy to how much Big Brother Naija is costing MNET now but I am sure it is not up to $3m. Any production person in Africa will tell you it is easier to produce TV content in South Africa than in Nigeria.

This is because the TV industry in South Africa is far more advanced. Also, the equipment needed is readily available. This is why some Nigerian music acts prefer to shoot videos in SA than in Nigeria. It is cheaper.

In South Africa, there are more professionals in the TV industry than in Nigeria. South Africa has more TV and film institutions of international repute.

Let's face the facts. Nigeria barely has any. PEFTI is a joke and the National Film Institute is archaic. Like I said, we have a bloated opinion about ourselves.

Presently, we cannot produce what South Africa is producing. This was very glaring when The Voice Nigeria and Project Fame was airing simultaneously. The gulf in the class of production was embarrassing.

Secondly, let's say it as it is. Nigerians are largely unprofessional. We don't keep to time and we don't have a spirit of excellence. You can argue all you want but take a look at the country we live in. Case closed.

"I remember a particular day when our generator provider decided to switch off the generator at 5 am on a Saturday morning. We had to put the cameras on loop. Some guy was just being an irritant. I can’t remember why he even did it. He had decided he wasn’t getting enough adverts or something (it was a barter deal).

“So that was probably the most hectic day of all the days. It took us till about 12 noon to get the generator back on" revealed Obi Asika.

Nigerians should stop moaning about Big Brother Naija in South Africa. We have a big sense of entitlement and a bloated opinion about ourselves.
