Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has dared President William Ruto’s government to arrest him, if found to have committed an offense.&nbsp;

The former head of state rushed to his son’s home after he informed him that unknown people claiming to be police officers were attempting to access the premises.&nbsp;

Speaking to the media at the residence on Friday evening July 21, Kenyatta said that the government should stop targeting his family over his friendship with Azimio leader Raila Odinga.&nbsp;

Uhuru said the government was mistaken in linking him to the<a data-link-role-code="open_new_tab" href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/live-blog-day-1-of-azimios-3-days-of-maandamano/t2bk2xm"> recent protests</a>, and denied any involvement.&nbsp;

He said that President Ruto’s administration is constantly updated on his whereabouts, adding that his silence should not be taken as fear.&nbsp;&nbsp;

“Come for me, what does my mother have to do with anything? What do my children have to do with anything?&nbsp;If you have a problem with me, I am right here,” Uhuru said.&nbsp;

He expressed his concern for the safety of his family but maintained he would not hesitate to defend them.&nbsp;

This was in response to the recent withdrawal of security attached to former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

Uhuru denied President Ruto’s accusations that he was sponsoring the opposition to frustrate the government.&nbsp;

“I am a retired person. Why don’t they deal with the issues and concerns they were raising? They should not look for scapegoats.

"When I was in power I was dealing with issues Kenyans were raising. These are not new things, go deal with them,” he said.&nbsp;

Kenyatta said he has not met or spoken to President Ruto, adding that the head of state over the issues.&nbsp;

Economist David Ndii revealed that President William Ruto quietly funded the opposition to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).&nbsp;

BBI was a proposed set of amendments to the constitution <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/cj-martha-koome-rules-whether-uhuru-was-allowed-to-promote-bbi-as-president/vpz78xr">spearheaded by former President Uhuru Kenyatta</a>

Ndii, currently the chairperson of the President's Council of Economic Advisors, said President Ruto, who was Kenyatta's deputy at the time, <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/martha-karua-elected-leaders-and-civil-servants-supporting-bbi-are-less-than-3000/4j8n7ps">supported Linda Katiba, which challenged the BBI proposal's constitutionality</a>.&nbsp;

David Ndii went on to claim that at the time,<a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/martha-karua-elected-leaders-and-civil-servants-supporting-bbi-are-less-than-3000/4j8n7ps"> Martha Karua was Boniface Mwangi were part of the initiative</a>.&nbsp;

However, in a rebuttal, Karua said that when she was engaged with Linda Katiba, the members contributed their resources to fund the initiative and by the time Ndii got Ruto to support the cause, she was no longer a part of it.&nbsp;

“I am disappointed you have joined the ranks of unmitigated liars. Throughout our collaboration in Linda Katiba you never disclosed any funding from William Ruto or anybody else.

"We contributed for our expenses until towards the end when we secured funding from a philanthropist. If at all William Ruto funded you it was your own private affair,” Karua responded.&nbsp;

She also highlighted that Boniface Mwangi sacrificed his resources and was not refunded by the time he left the group.&nbsp;

In his defence, Boniface Mwangi said: "David Ndii I’m ashamed that a man of your stature would stoop this low to malign my name. You know that I volunteered my time and resources to Linda Katiba.&nbsp;

“I even hosted and fed you in my home. You weren’t even in the meeting where Linda Katiba’s name was coined. If you collected money from William Ruto using my name, please account for it.”&nbsp;

Karua went on to say that she found it difficult to work with Ruto and made it very clear.&nbsp;

Ndii responded by claiming that Karua did not have a stand, having become Raila Odinga’s running mate despite being among his strongest critics.&nbsp;

“Let me remind the Iron Lady that in run up to 2017, I approached her to join what became NASA and she said she couldn't work with Raila, citing 2007, same reasons as what they are doing together today. Moral pedestal is never a safe political perch,” Ndii said.&nbsp;

Karua answered that she was already working with Odinga as a friend of CORD from 2014 to 2017.&nbsp;

Azimio digital strategist Pauline Njoroge clashed with Sam Terriz, the Senior Film Officer at the State House in a heated public spat on Twitter.&nbsp;

The war of words started after Pauline Njoroge criticised the State House film officer for using ChatGPT to draft posts for social media.

“So now the State House social media team has resulted to ChatGPT to write posts for them on some very obvious matters?” she questioned.&nbsp;

"Those who are trying to defend this let me ask you a question. A government makes a decision, but can’t explain it and has to rely on AI to help its officials explain to the public what that decision means. What does that tell us about that government?" Pauline added.

What started as criticism quickly escalated into a personal feud, after a response by Terriz, the author of the post highlighted by Pauline.

Terriz warned Njoroge not to make it personal and threatened to expose her personal information.

&nbsp;He claimed to possess confidential and classified information about Ms Njoroge, stating that he could reveal her secrets.

Terriz went on to mention his capability of employing ChatGPT to unearth more details about her.

The exchange intensified as Terriz accused Njoroge of relying on others to draft her social media posts.

The tech industry has been rocked by a revolution in generative AI over the past few months.Since OpenAI released its buzzy chatbot ChatGPT last November, big tech giants have been racing to compete. In February, Google unveiled its ChatGPT competitor Bard, which it officially released to the public in March. Microsoft also had a new version of its search engine Bing with an AI assistant called Sydney in February.Smaller AI startups have launched their own chatbots too, like Anthropic's Claude. Venture capitalists have been pouring millions into new investments in the field. Tech workers are using AI tools for everything, including research and coding.Ammaar Reshi, who works at the SF-based fintech company Brex, said he's overheard some "insane" remarks amid the AI frenzy sweeping Silicon Valley, including recently:  "I really believe you can recreate the human soul with AI."

"You may have once believed you were the queen of English, but remember the days when others used to type texts for you, forwarding them for you to post. You know exactly who I'm referring to," he said.

&nbsp;A section of Kenyans who commented on the post said the heated confrontation between Njoroge and Terriz was an example of a dispute that had spilt into the public sphere, with the potential of damaging reputations.&nbsp;

The National Assembly Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee has approved the nomination of outgoing Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji’s appointment as the Director General of the National Intelligence Service.&nbsp;

According to the report, Haji disclosed his net worth as Sh466 million. He also disclosed that he received an annual salary of Sh9 million and Sh12 million from a family business.&nbsp;

“The nominee submitted that he expects to share an inheritance with his siblings that will form part of his future benefits,” the report read in part.&nbsp;

<h3>Noordin Haji’s nomination is not a personal favour</h3>

The outgoing DPP was also questioned how he would ensure NIS’ independence while working with the government&nbsp;

He acknowledged that the President leads the National Security Council, which consists of members from the Executive.&nbsp;

However, if appointed, he intends to establish a balance, ensuring that the NIS' activities are not solely controlled by the Executive.&nbsp;

He said the aim is to maintain independence, and the NIS will prioritize providing nonpartisan intelligence.

If confirmed, Haji pledged to ensure that the NIS produces appropriate, accurate, and timely intelligence that adds value, without being exploited for personal gain.

Haji clarified that his appointment is not a result of favouritism from President William Ruto.

He asserted that he will not compromise his independence and will not hesitate to address any wrongdoings to the President's attention.&nbsp;

President William Ruto has been mentioned in a leaked classified document, which suggests that the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and his deputy, Amina Mohammed, expressed their concerns about him during a conversation.

The leaked documents are said to be classified files from the United States military, which allegedly obtained details of a conversation between the two UN leaders.

The US Justice Department is currently looking into the origins of the cache of classified documents, which not only reveal intelligence on the ongoing war in Ukraine but also expose the US's methods of espionage.

According to a report by BBC, the leaked files revealed candid conversations between the UN Sec Gen and his deputy, in which Mohammed described Ruto as "ruthless" and told her boss that she “does not trust him”.&nbsp;

The authenticity of some of the leaked documents is yet to be established, but they "certainly appear to have come from various sources of intelligence across the government," according to US national security spokesperson John Kirby who spoke to the BBC.

Ms Mohammed visited Kenya in October 2022, nearly a month after President Ruto was sworn into office.&nbsp;

The President and Ms Mohammed discussed <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/business/international/east-african-leaders-have-come-together-to-prevent-war-in-their-region/pcp6ykq">Kenya’s role as an anchor state of peace in the Horn of Africa</a>.

The two leaders acknowledged that economies and livelihoods globally have been affected by the impact of climate change, while the region has suffered famine and prolonged drought as a result.

In her part, she <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/business/international/speeches-from-african-leaders-at-the-united-nations-general-assembly/pbyhkmz">thanked President Ruto for inspiring action to mitigate climate change</a>.&nbsp;

“We stand together to make the 2030 Agenda a reality. Thank you William President of Kenya, for inspiring us to act and your leadership to keep the promise of the #SDGs for people and for the planet,” she said in a post on Twitter.&nbsp;

This is a stark contrast to the alleged leaked correspondence with UN sec gen in which she expressed her reservations on the Kenyan head of state.&nbsp;

President Ruto was mentioned in leaked documents, in which the UN deputy secretary-general described him as "ruthless".

UN boss admits to not trusting Ruto in leaked US military documents

A farm manager at Northlands, a farm owned by the family of former President Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed that over 1,400 sheep and goats were stolen after <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/kenyatta-familys-northlands-farm-invaded-by-unknown-people/l1n157n">unknown people invaded the farm.</a>

Speaking to the media on Monday, March 27, the farm manager said that the invaders also cut down trees, destroyed boreholes, vandalised the stores and took apart the irrigation system.&nbsp;

There were no reports of farm workers or staff injuries as the private security guards were helpless against the people who breached the property from the Eastern Bypass side.

Some of the livestock were being sold to passers-by along the Eastern Bypass at throw away prices.

Later in the day, fire erupted in a section of the farm, as police officers kept away from the property.&nbsp;

The motive of the invasion is yet to be established, and authorities have not made any statements on the incident.&nbsp;

Journalists who were filming the incident were chased and a Nation Media Group reporter was injured in the fracas.

Former President Kenyatta was recently the target of accusations from government officials who have criticised his support for Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.&nbsp;

Allies of President William Ruto have severally claimed that the retired president was fuelling Raila’s anti-government protests, albeit without offering evidence.&nbsp;

The former head of state has largely stayed away from confrontation with pro-government supporters.&nbsp;

A week before the unprecedented invasion, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa sounded a warning to Kenyatta.&nbsp;

“I want to ask our former president to respect other people’s property. If you cannot do that, we have so many questions to ask you starting with the land you occupy in Ruiru, Taita Taveta, and Nakuru. If you attack people’s property we will also attack your land and ensure those that do not have also get a share,” Ichung'wa said.

A number of leaders condemned the incident, with Odinga, whose firm Spectre East Africa was also attacked by unknown people, terming it an act of cowardice.&nbsp;

A multitude of Kenyans on Monday, March 27 reportedly invaded the expansive farm associated with the family of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.&nbsp;

According to videos and photos reaching the news desk, the invasion was staged on Northlands from the Eastern Bypass side near Kamakis.&nbsp;

Some of the people could be seen breaching the fence and carrying livestock.

It was not immediately clear what the motive behind the activity is and the Kenyatta family is yet to issue a statement on the reports.

Security authorities had not responded to the reports by the time of publishing.

The expansive farm also holds the headquarters of Brookside Dairy and Peponi School which are also linked to the Kenyatta family.

In another separate incident, unknown people stoned the headquarters of East Africa Spectre along Mombasa Road, a company associated with Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.

According to an insider with extensive knowledge of the Kirubi empire, the coordinated attack on social media seemed to be aimed at maligning Centum and it's leaders by wheeler-dealers under the guise of ex-employees.

The company recently folded its services division, Centum Business Solutions (CBS) in a cost cutting measure to save Sh150 million annually.

The 'former employees', in a letter published by bloggers Cyprian Nyakundi and Robert Alai, claimed that their exit from the company was unfair.

Mworia, who has been the CEO of Centum from 2008, was left in charge of the multi-billion investment company, after the death of Dr. Chris Kirubi, much to the dismay of cartels who expected he would be a pushover.

&nbsp;Digital communication experts say that coordinated campaigns are used to influence and manipulate social media users and in Kenya, such attacks usually target politicians and sometimes business leaders.&nbsp;

&nbsp;There has been increasing evidence of malicious influencers polluting&nbsp;social media with disinformation and manipulation campaigns.

With the late businessman Chris Kirubi’s exit from the helm of Centum, the wheeler-dealers could have thought that Mworia would have been easier to access the multi-billion assets controlled by the CEO.&nbsp;

However, with Mworia having operated under the wing of the departed icon turned out to be much like his chairman.&nbsp;

Other than blocking access to wasteful use of the company’s resources, the CEO has also focused on tackling inflated costs which sometimes are introduced by greedy players.&nbsp;

Mworia pushed for managing of project costs', was the Centum real estate project dubbed Cascadia apartment. He pushed down the costs from Sh2.65 billion to less than Sh2 billion.

In 2021, Centum made a strategic decision to deleverage the portfolio and reduce financial risk while generating a stable cash return on shareholder funds.

Over the years, the company invested Sh7.8 billion in acquiring and developing the assets under Centum Real Estate – which was valued at Sh16.6 billion in the year ended March 2021.

As a result of massive gains in land and property prices, Centum now holds about 63% of its Sh47.5 billion wealth in real estate – exceeding its target maximum of 55%.&nbsp;

Centum CEO James Mworia has become the target of a number of wheeler-dealers who are after the multi-billion assets held by the company.

Why Centum CEO James Mworia is under attack

The selection panel conducting the filling of vacancies at the IEBC has unveiled a list of 36 shortlisted candidates.&nbsp;

According to the notice published on Saturday, June 12,&nbsp;the panel’s chairperson Elizabeth Muli stated that the candidates would be subjected to psychometric tests before oral interviews are conducted.&nbsp;

“All shortlisted applicants are required to undertake a psychometric test on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11am at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi,” read the notice.&nbsp;

For this exercise, the shortlisted applicants are required to provide their original ID cards or passports.

“The psychometric tests and oral interview shall be conducted in public,” the statement reads.&nbsp;&nbsp;

What is a psychometric test?

A psychometric test is any activity or assessment that is conducted in order to evaluate a candidate's performance and includes, but is not limited to, skills, knowledge, abilities, personality traits, attitudes and job/academic potential.

It is a modern tool which is used during the early stages of recruitment as a means of filtering out applicants because many struggle to get past this stage.

Psychometric testing will help the panel assess the candidates’ abilities to analyse information, solve problems, make informed judgements, whilst also analysing their behavioural tendencies.

Types of psychometric tests.&nbsp;

Numerical Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning are two of the most popular tests used to assess a candidate's ability. The test are usually time sensitive hence speed is required.&nbsp;

Numerical Reasoning tests are used to measure a candidate's ability to interpret numerical data. You must be able to analyse and draw conclusions from the data, which could be presented in tables or graphs.

Verbal Reasoning tests are used to assess a candidate's ability to comprehend a passage of text. This is usually followed by a series of questions based on the text.&nbsp;

Inductive reasoning tests, sometimes also referred to as abstract reasoning tests, are used to test the logical problem solving ability of each candidate.

Critical thinking tests measure a candidate’s ability to structure a sound, solid argument, to analyse and synthesise available information, and to make assumptions and inferences.

Situational judgement tests present candidates with a range of different situations that they might experience in the job for which they are applying. For each situation, a number of possible actions are suggested.

Many applicants may struggle to get past this stage.

A video has emerged showing one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s close protection bodyguards frisking National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi as he attempted to approach the Head of State.

The two were at Parliament Buildings as President Kenyatta prepared to leave the National Prayer Breakfast.

Only Kenyans with a keen eye were able to catch the action as the security officer patted Muturi’s pockets.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The speaker who is third in line in the country’s power structure was seen fondling his pockets which might have triggered the frisking.&nbsp;

According to presidential security protocol, everyone who interacts with the Head of State must be screened and cleared in advance.

The increased alertness was likely triggered by a <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/security-breach-as-president-uhuru-kenyatta-car-nearly-hits-man-in-kasarani-video/llt5s7v">series of security lapses in President Kenyatta’s security team</a>.&nbsp;

Uhuru’s close protection bodyguards are supposed to minimize any exposure to threats through appropriate planning, situation awareness and reaction.

Where threats are manifested, the officers are expected to focus on Public Order Management basic tactics by minimizing the impact on the president by way of extraction from the threat environment.&nbsp;

Where the only option to achieve this is to negate the threat, this must be done discreetly and with minimal appropriate use of force, such as how Speaker Muturi was frisked without anyone noticing.&nbsp;
