Opondo blamed Gen Muhoozi’s acts on his own nature as a person who “wants the presidency of a silver platter,” and on his political surrogates "who like NUP supporters on social media don’t show restraint against those they disagree with.”

Opondo went on to highlight some of the traits that make Gen Muhoozi an undesirable political candidate.

“In his previous political sketches on X platform came across as petulant, arrogant and either unable or uncomfortable talking to the public and media,” he said.

“Many see him as a kitchen-knife child with a sense of entitlement, worsened by his abrasive and insolent political surrogates who like NUP supporters on social media don’t show restraint against those they disagree with.”

“He could have just hanged around the NRM power corridor to enter parliament probably an easier route to be home and dry in the presidency,” he said.

Noah was rumoured back in 2017 that he was to have a show in Uganda. The rumour was peddled among others by comedian Patrick Salvado.

The South African comic was forced to respond to the reports, clarifying on social media that he had no such trip planned.

But with many Ugandans taking to Twitter begging him to come, Noah promised to find time and travel to Uganda, which, however, never materialised.

The comedian this weekend had three shows in London for the Off the Record tour, and another in Glasgow earlier in the week.

The trend of florists designing bouquets from bank notes became popularised in recent months in the country.

It became even more prominent in the lead-up to this year’s national examinations as parents and guardians <a href="https://www.pulse.ug/entertainment/pretty-nicole-promises-surprise-ple-performance/pzkfv1x">gifted these bouquets to their candidate children </a>to wish them success.

But the central bank warned on Wednesday, that such practices constitute mutilation and defacing, and compromise the integrity of the Uganda Shilling currency, which is illegal.

“Florists, designers, gifting stylists, and their clients are particularly cautioned to avoid using currency banknotes and coins in making bouquets or any like creations,” said Kenneth Egesa, the Bank’s spokesperson.

“This mainly involves the use of brand-new banknotes that are stuck together using glue, cello tape, pins, clips, and other adhesives or fasteners as part of floral bouquets for various social events and gifting ceremonies.”

“This practice destroys the utility of banknotes making them unusable in cash processing and distribution equipment such as cash counting machines and ATMs, which are a critical part of the cash distribution systems. It also results in the premature withdrawal from circulation and replacement of banknotes at an avoidable cost to the public.”

The Bank of Uganda’s statement comes weeks after the Ministry of Education also issued a warning to parents about these cash gifts to their candidate children.

Minister for Higher Education, Hon. John Chrysestom Muyingo warned that this might demoralise other learners whose parents cannot afford such gifts.

The Minister promised to work with the Bank of Uganda to give guidance on this practice.

The Central Bank said in its statement yesterday, that although it is not against using cash as a gift, this exchange should conform to the normal use of currency to facilitate payment transactions.

Gen Muhoozi pointed out on Tuesday that he had no hand in or control over the wedding’s invitation list.

The First Son challenged the NUP president to provide any evidence that he was disinvited on State House orders as he alleged.

“I missed it so bad, I had bought a brand new suit, but the next time I go to Busoga I will put on,” he added.

However, Balaam Barugahara, the Chairman MK Movement for Western Uganda described Bobi Wine’s allegations as “baseless.”&nbsp;

“Gen Muhoozi was not responsible whatsoever of issuing cards or creating the guest list and neither was Gen Museveni,” he said.

“He was also invited as a friend of the Kyabazinga.”

The President was addressing thousands of students from different schools who are part of the patriotism program, at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

In his speech, Museveni implored the youngsters to take charge of their lives and guard against temptations that would jeopardize their futures.

He gave the example of himself, who at the age of 79, is still in perfect health.&nbsp;

This, he said, was because he does not drink alcohol or use body weakening drugs.&nbsp;

“I am now going to be 80 years old, but you hear you are asking me to continue leading the war,” Museveni said.

“This is because I am fit; I am not sick. If I was sick in a wheelchair you would not be disturbing me by saying ‘Jaajja tova ku main.' You say that because you see that I still have some strength.&nbsp;

“That is because I don't take alcohol. It is very dangerous for the body. I also don't smoke cigarettes, let alone those other poisons which you take.”

The President also cautioned the youths against other dangerous habits such as fornication which might expose them to sexually transmitted diseases.

“When you love yourself you take care of yourself so that you do not run into trouble,” he said.

Although President Museveni has long rejected public discourse about the 2026 election amid reports that his son Gen Muhoozi Kairugaba wants to jump into the fray, it is understood that most of the top NRM leaders and key figures in the UPDF are bent on having him seek another term.

Batumbya was speaking on Monday while receiving more contributions from well-wishers toward the wedding.

Among the people and entities that chimed in with contributions is advertising agency Fire Works.

This extended in-kind support with USh43 million toward the fete.&nbsp;

When the rumours first came out in April last year, Juliana was compelled to <a href="https://www.pulse.ug/entertainment/muhoozi-kainerugaba-is-not-the-father-of-my-son-juliana-kanyomozi/nt87cv3">issue a statement</a>, clarifying that she had been seeing the father of her child for seven years and that she wished to keep him away from the limelight.

In the Tusker ConverSession, she maintained that her man prefers a private life and that she too doesn't wish to make him public.

“I am in a very happy place right now and I don't feel like sharing it publicly, but they (fans) refuse to understand,” she said.

As for the Muhoozi rumours, Juliana says she has come to terms with the world of social media and learned to deny it oxygen whenever she can.

“People run with what can bring the likes, the shares, and the attention. They will make up stuff just to trend, but what they don’t realize is that those things affect people in their personal lives.

“I have a family; my son has a wonderful father and he reads that stuff,” she added.

All through his 15-year music career, the singer says he’s seen nothing but hate, malice and slander from the media, and for that, he’s decided to take a step back.

“I have reached a stage where I cannot do interviews anymore,” Kenzo said in an interview with TV host and YouTuber Ruth Kalibbala.

Kenzo claims journalists are being used by his enemies to throw him off course. A lot of journalists, he says, are paid to ask him questions that only make him look bad in the public.

“You find that there is a reporter who is in your face wherever you turn, they are following you everywhere; and whatever chance they get to ask you a question, it is always in the interest of other people who sent him,” he said.

“Even when you take him aside and ask why he is asking you such twisted questions, he will tell you he has been instructed to ask those specific questions.&nbsp;
