City Preacher Apostle James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Centre is a man not new to controversy as he keeps making headlines every other time.

The Televangelist is known for making controversial statements that seem to land him in trouble with not only law enforcement authorities, but Kenyans in general.

Here is five times he has hit headlines for wrong reasons;

Road accident case

In July last year, the televangelist made headlines after the court reversed his acquittal in the infamous road crash case that led to the death of Mercy Njeri.

Ng’ang’a was charged with dangerous driving leading to the death of Njeri, and was freed after a ruling made by Chief Magistrate Godfrey Oduor of Limuru Law Courts.

Rose Muhando whereabouts

In November 2018, he stirred controversy on the whereabouts of Tanzanian Gospel singer Rose Muhando a few days after a video showing pastor Ng’ang’a casting demons out of her went viral.

Conflicting accounts emerged on where the singer went after the dramatic event with insiders revealing that she was being held by Neno Evangelism Center operated by James Ng’ang’a in relation to a crusade that was scheduled to take place a few days after the video leaked online.

Threatening Linus Kaikai

The controversial city pastor was in March this year arrested for threatening Citizen TV journalist Linus Kaikai.

Ng’ang'a was arrested on a Sunday night by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after Kaikai filed a complaint with police over threats made by the preacher.

He was arrested days after he unleashed his wrath on Kaikai for calling out fake preachers.

Arrested for defrauding

In April he was once again arrested over claims of defrauding a city businessman Sh3.6 million.

The televangelist spent a night at Central Police Station in Nairobi and was later on released on bond. The police however, did not disclose the name of the businessman and when he was defrauded.

Insulting his Bishops

This being the latest incident, Ng’ang’a has hit the headlines again for firing a tough warning to his Bishops in an insult-filled rant on the pulpit.

In a video that has since gone viral, the Neno Evangelism founder while addressing his Bishops called them rubbish and stupid people for disrespecting his wife.

He also threatened the Bishops and their wives that if they don’t respect his wife, he will kick them out of his ministry and close down the churches they are leading. Pastor Ng’ang’a went on to say that they found him in his ministry and they have they have become rich through the same ministry, swearing that he will teach them a lesson and they will know who he really is.
