Kenyan singer and business woman Esther Akoth aka Akothee has for the first time opened up on her first meeting with WCB President Diamond Platnumz.
Speaking on Mambo Mseto, the mother of five said that they first met in South Africa after she worked with renown video director "The God Father" on a song that she spent about Sh4 million .
She went on to say that they were not friends at that time because she was just beginning her music career, but Diamond saw talent in her.
“Diamond aliona kwamba kuna talent. Sitasema ulikuwa marafiki lakini inasemekana it depends on the streets where you walk… mara yangu ya kwanza kukutana na Diamond niliweza kufanya kazi na God Father tukakutana naye South Africa,” she narrated.
Madam boss went on to state that working with the East Africa superstar taught her a lot, which she still borrows from up to date.
“Nikienda kufanya kazi na Diamond naweza kusema nilikuwa bado mbichi katika mambo ya usanii na niliweza kujifunza mambo mengi sana kutoka kwake. Kwa mafano kuwa mvumilivu, kufanya kazi extra hours na kuignore haters,” said Akothee.
The President of Single mother also appreciated Chibu for lifting her music career by introducing her to his Tanzanian and Kenyan fans as well.
Akothee further noted that their collabo with Diamond (Sweet Love) was the first song to be recorded at the WCB Wasafi studios and they spent the whole night working on it.
“Kufanya kazi na Diamond iliweza kusukuma kazi ya kwangu kwa sababu aliweza kuniintroduce katika fan base yake ya Watanzania na hata Wakenya pia,” she said.
