Seasoned Radio and TV personalities Amina Abdi Rabar and Fareed Khimani are out to set a new record in the Kenyan broadcasting scene, by hosting the longest Talk-show in Africa.

On Wednesday, the two who host Capital in the Morning, kicked off a challenge that will see them host a talk-show for 28 hours straight.

The 28 hour mark will be halfway to beating the world record which stands at 60 hours.

Amina who is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated media personalities out of East Africa has expressed her desire to break the World record in the next Marathon to be held in a few weeks.

Radio Marathon

The challenge officially kicked off on the 30th of October 6am and is expected to run till 31st of October 2019.

The duo have urged the public to come out to support them as they embark of this feat which has never been tried in Africa.

According to a statement from the Capital Management, former and current Capital presenters will act as pace setters during the 28 hours radio marathon.

“We have a lineup of former and current Capital presenters coming as “pace setters” throughout the #28hourmarathon. On the 12th October in Austria, Vienna, Eliud Kipchoge set out to make it known that No Human Is Limited and became the first human to run a full 42km marathon in under 2hrs. To celebrate the record breaking hero and to honour him, Capital FM's morning show hosts Amina and Fareed will break the Kenyan record for the longest running hosted radio show,” read tweets from Capital.

In June, Legendary presenter Fareed Khimani made a grand comeback to Capital FM after leaving Nation FM.

Fareed was brought in after the exit of Maqbul Mohammed who had worked at the station for 12 years.
