Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu has suffered another setback after being arraigned at the Kisutu Resident Magistrates Court over sharing sexually-explicit pictures and videos contrary to the  law.

The actress, who pleaded not guilty to the offence, was fined Tsh10 million shillings and allowed to go home upon paying the fine.

Wema’s arraignment in court comes days after she was banned from the Film Classification Board indefinitely from taking part in any film related activities.

The regulatory Body, issued a statement directing that Wema would not be allowed to shoot or direct any movie, until the time they would be satisfied that she had changed her ways.

In Tanzania, anybody who violates the Electronic Laws put in place is always slapped with a ban of six months, barring them from using social media or participating in any works related to music or Film.

The current electronic laws were introduced in  January 2018 barring  any Tanzanian from sharing sexually-suggestive content on social media.
