Journalist Betty Kyallo teamed up with President Uhuru Kenyatta's niece Nana Gecaga to give award-winning musician Gilad Millo a befitting birthday treat, catching him by surprise.
Betty Kyallo arranged with Gecaga who is the the CEO of Kenyatta International Convention Centre to give the ‘Mpenzi’ hit maker his first-ever tour of the iconic building, taking him all the way to the rooftop for an experience of a life time.
"I have never been on the rooftop of KICC and it would be an awesome trip," Gilad said in appreciation of the kind gesture.
"We have 28 floors, you are walking and I will ensure that. Happy birthday," Gecaga joked as she received an elated Gilad who was looking forward to the treat.
The trio are seen chatting happily with the former Israeli Deputy Ambassador opening up on his life, music career and his love for Kenya.
"I love Kenya and the fact that people love my songs, know the words and connect with it. I love it when my songs have an impact on the fans," Gilad stated.
He also revealed that he has applied for Kenyan Citizenship, adding that he is comfortable and happy with the simple things in life and that being a celebrity does not entail a flashy lifestyle, being proud or arrogant.
"I came from corporate to music. I took a downgrade in my income, which is fine. I don't need fancy cars and flashy lifestyle.
"My wife and I moved into the apartment from a bungalow that had 10 rooms. It was my choice," stated the father of two.
Gilad was joined by a fan at the roof top and performed one of his hit songs with Betty Kyallo singing along.
