The driver to Ugandan singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine was allegedly shot dead by Police on Monday night in his car while in Arua District.
The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament (MP) shared the sad news via his social media pages stating that he was the target of the police bullets.
In the photo shared by Bobi Wine, the Driver identified as Yasin Kawuma Mugerwa is seen lying in the car lifelessly with blood all over his Body.
After the killing, Bobi send out an alarm claiming that his hotel had been cordoned off by Police officers.
Contradicting reports
According to a local Tabloid The Observer in Uganda, there are contradicting reports about how the driver was kiled - with government officials claiming that chaos were sparked off after Wadri and Bobi Wine's supporters attacked the convoy of President Yoweri Museveni.
Senior press secretary, Don Wanyama tweeted a photo of one of Museveni's supposedly bullet-proof car with a shattered rear window. Wanyama accused opposition supporters of causing the damage.
Museveni flew to Arua on Monday, to campaign for ruling party flag bearer Nusura Tiperu. The chaos reportedly ensued after Wadri's last campaigns at Arua Prison grounds.
Wadri left in the company of Bobi wine before they encountered Tiperu's supporters on their way to the hotel with a commotion ensuing among the supporters, the observer reports.
Bobi Wine whereabouts now remain unknown after tweeting that it was an attempt on his life.
His wife Barbie Kyagulanyi said she had since lost contact with her husband but police in Arua denied arresting Bobi Wine.
