Instagram can be one of the most difficult platforms to grow your numbers but these celebrities have managed to become the cream of the crop in the Kenyan Instagram scene.

In this generation Instagram numbers is something to be proud of, as people with huge numbers are used to influence and advertise products by companies.

Advertisers who want their products and services to reach as many people as it is possible, will always approach people with a huge following and that translates into money.

1.Lupita Nyong'o - 9M followers

Of course, the OG is actress Lupita Nyong’o known for her acting prowess in Shuga that seemingly propelled her to international fame. Lupita has gone on on to bag many awards including a Golden Globe, BAFTA, BET and MTV Awards. 

She also directed the music video "The Little Things You Do" by Wahu, featuring Bobi Wine, which was nominated for the Best Video Award at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009.

The singer comes in third and is famed for her relationship with Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz. The two even collaborated on a song called ‘Gere’.

4.Akothee - 3.1M followers

Madam Boss, CEO of Akothee Safaris has never been known to mince her words. The outspoken mother of 5 was recently named as number 15 in the list of 30 richest musicians in Africa. Forbes purportedly released the article placing her with a Net Worth of $10M. 

 5.Bahati - 3M followers

The singer came to fame with his hit gospel songs and has since left the industry. Bahati recently released his new album ‘Love Like This’ and its has been very successful in the music industry.

Mtoto wa Mama has over 3 million people following him on Instagram.

6.Betty Kyallo - 2.9M followers

The entrepreneur and an Award-winning Media Personality Betty Kyallo has worked with Standard Group owned station KTN and Mediamax owned TV station K24. In 2020 Betty was crowned as the TV/Online Influencer of the Year at the Inaugural Africa Digital Influencer Awards (ADIA).

Betty was named among 100 Most Influential Young Africans by Africa Youth Awards in collaboration with Avance Media.

In 2018, Ms Kyallo was voted as the Journalist of the Year by Kenyans on Twitter (K0T), defeating opposition from KTN news reporter Timothy Otieno, The Star Digital Editor Oliver Mathenge and Marvin Gakuyi.
