Media Personality Shaffie Weru, DJ Joe Mfalme and Neville landed in trouble with a section of Kenyans On Twitter, over allegations of Victim shamming the lady who was thrown off the 12th floor of Ambank House by a man she met on Facebook (Facebook boyfriend)

The three who were hosting a show on Homeboyz radio where they opted to make the incident a topic of discussion, saying how ladies are “Loose” and too available for strangers. The discussion angered a number of Kenyans who came out guns blazing, castigating them for shifting blame instead to condemning the inhuman act that lady in question was subjected to.

Others said that they could have used their voices to condemn the incident, instead of asking ladies to play hard to get and stop being too available.

The Lady in Question

On Monday, Eunice Wangari Wakimbi (the victim), told a magistrate’s court that she met the perpetrator, Moses Gatama Njoroge, for a date in Nairobi on September 13, 2020.

There after, they went to his office for an alcoholic drink and at around 7.30 pm when she wanted to leave, Njoroge made advance on her, which she turned down.

Her refusal to spend the night with the perpetrator is what caused the fight, that resulted to her being pushed off the 12th floor of the building through the window, landing on the 9th floor balcony.

She suffered serious pelvic injuries and was taken to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where she was admitted for two months. Njoroge was charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm.

Reactions from KOT

Ciku Muiruri

“@ShaffieWeru The most ridiculous thing about this nonsense is that your beef with women is that they are seemingly "too available" but if they say no to sex (hence not available) you can toss them out of a building. Kindly grow up. This is irresponsible. And let me add that being "too available" or "not available at all" is also HER fucking choice and not a licence for rape or violence”

Ciru Muriuki

“So a guy pushes you from the 12th Floor of a building for refusing his advances, because you were "too loose".

I can't even engage with this logic. Women are loose for having sex, and loose for refusing it. We can't win”
