Fintech entrepreneur and Wapi Pay co-founder Eddie Ndichu seemed to have taken a long break from Kenya and retreated to the United States from photos posted on his social media pages.

However, in a conversation with one of his close friends who goes by the nickname Flames, this writer has established that the photos were a throwback.

"I was just with him yesterday," said the friend who is in Nairobi.

Eddie has chosen to keep away from the limelight, and is said to be waiting for the dust to settle on the protracted media buzz involving his twin brother Paul, their friend Munira Hassan and two sisters - Stephanie and Cheryl Murgor.

In one of the photos, the fintech guru posed beside the famous John Harvard statue with the caption, "Study break! Happy holidays! Be patient and love each other!"

Eddie also posted a photo of himself at the beach with a Puerto Rican drink widely distributed in the US called Medalla Light.

He has since pulled down the photos.

The embattled tech guru has also taken to a more positive outlook on life, repeatedly advising his followers to be grateful.

He recently captioned a photo of himself at a plush recreational facility with: "Wrapping up 2021! Thankful!"

Asked about any future plans, a reluctant Eddie has said that he plans to go to the US and possibly pursue further studies.
