Over the Weekend Royal Media Services (RMS) Director of Strategy and Innovation Linus Kaikai treated Citizen TVs’ journalist Victor Kinuthia to a special lunch at his home days after being bashed on social media.
In a post on his Facebook account, Kinuthia shared Photos while at Kaikai’s home stating how encouraged and privileged he was to have had a sit down with his boss, despite his on-screen blunder that subjected him to lots of criticism.
"Today was a day to remember having been hosted by my boss Linus Kaikai together with my Cameraman Dennis Kabiru at his home. It was quite a privilege to share lunch with my boss and his lovely family whom were so hospitable to us as we talked about our careers how to grow our expertise and be bold enough to tackle the challenges facing we as members of the fourth estate," reads part of Victor's post.
I beg to share my experience
Kinuthia confessed that he almost lost hope, but words of encouragement from his bosses led by Kaikai and colleagues at RMS kept him going.
“I recalled the very night when news of my broken English went viral receiving harsh critics, mockery from people and at a moment I felt like my world was scrabbling down and almost lost hope but thanks to my bosses Led by Mr, Linus Kaikai and my colleagues at RMS and other distinguished Media houses, friends, family and fans who echoed word of encouragement and felt alive again. I beg to share my experience with thousands of people across all walks of live whom might be going through challenges similar to mine with a word of hope through my newly composed Kikuyu Song entitled "KIRINDI" which will be dropping at my YouTube channel at 6pm this evening. Thanks for believing in me and most humbled to serve humanity in my line of duty. Shalom,” shared Victor Kinuthia.
I almost gave up
On Wednesday last week, Kinuthia was promoted to join the Sema na Citizen (mid-morning show) reporting team.
“I almost gave up when I found myself trending all over after yesterday's 9 pm news. But after receiving calls and texts from my bosses, colleagues, friends and fans I must say am encouraged. Boy child rising! Tupatane Sema na Citizen,” he wrote.
Trolled
Victor Kinuthia went viral after online trolls bashed him claiming that his command of the queen's language was poor while covering the arrest of MP Ndindi Nyoro.
