Janet Mbugua responds to reports that all is not well in her marriage to husband, Eddie Ndichu

Former Citizen Television news anchor Janet Mbugua has addressed reports that she is not in good terms with her husband of four years, Eddie Ndichu and opened up on challenges in marriage.

The media personality made the remarks on Friday, 25 October 2019 during the Upclose and Personal TV show, hosted by Betty Kyalo.

Asked about the state of her marriage in the backdrop of rumours that all is not well, the diva steered clear off the topic, stating that “It has been a few years…” and admitted that the institution of marriage is a challenging one.

“I always tell those who keep on saying: ‘Oh my God, I can’t wait to start a family…’ I say two things: ‘Take your time, and make sure that you are ready; because you could be good at being in love, but you do not really need to be married’. Mbugua stated.

She advised Kenyans to take their time before settling down.

The 35-year old admitted that balancing family, work and expectations is really hard and cautioned that her words of advice should not be taken out of context.

“Trying to balance family, work and expectations is really hard…I love my family, I love where I am.

“And, I know, the moment you say it is not easy, I can predict what the blog posts would say… But, it is fine, they would talk about it” said the mother of two.

Janet Mbugua also admitted that quitting Citizen TV at the peak of her career was a difficult decision that took her time.

Her illustrious career which saw her work at various media outlets including Capital, a South African based Pulse FM before landing at Citizen TV.

 “I had put my finances in order such that it could sustain me for at least two years, when I was out of work,” said Mbugua.
