Khaligraph Jones to open his own Radio Station

Rapper Khaligraph Jones has hinted on opening his own Radio Station that will purely give first priority to Kenyan artistes.

Papa Jones shared his intentions of joining media owners in the country via his Instagram account, a move that left many of his fans excited.

The Ngori hit maker who has been at the center of the Play Kenyan Music initiative and now wants to lead by example.

“Radio Station Coming sooon #Playkenyamusic” shared Khaligraph Jones.

Khali, who is one of the best Rappers in Africa, has been flying the Kenyan flag high, recently being crowned the best Rapper at Afrimma Awards.

Away from his established music career, Jones owns a record label dubbed Blue Ink Corps. He also doubles up as the Monster energy drink brand ambassador, deals that see him smiling all the way to the bank.

Khaligraph’s announcements comes at a time President Uhuru Kenyatta has also expressed his willingness to meet Kenyan musicians at State House to discuss the future of the Music Industry in the country.

“Arrange and bring them to State House if that is what you want so that we can talk and discuss the future of the music industry in the country.And if he doesn’t it’s his fault, not mine, si ni namna hiyo , tumekubaliana,” said President Kenyatta during the burial of Bruce Odhiambo.

Spearhead

However, for better part of this month, artistes led by Khaligraph Jones and NaiBoi have been appealing to Kenyan Radio and TV stations to allocate more airplay to local content.

Musicians argued that the radio industry in Kenya is dominated by Bongo and Nigerian music, as presenters tend to undermine local songs.
