Citizen TV’s Swahili news anchor Lulu Hassan has sent out her first message to her new Co-anchor and husband Rashid Abdalla.

The celebrated media personality took to social media to welcome Rashid to the Nipashe Wikendi Team after he replaced Kanze Dena, who is now the acting State House spokesperson.

“Meet my new partner in crime... Karibu kwenye  ,Karibu katika  KARIBU NYUMBANI !!!!” wrote Lulu Hassan.

The power couple are expected to bring a new lease of life in the new segment 'Citizen Nipashe'. This will also be the first time in the history of Kenyan TV industry, husband and wife are anchoring news together.

Her message comes days after Royal Media Services (RMS) unveiled a new star studded Swahili desk team in a promo that ran on Citizen TV.

The team comprises of experienced Swahili journalists who were poached from NTV and KTN.

They include Nimrod Taabu, Mashirima Kapombe, Jamila Mohamed, Swaleh Mdoe, Mwanahamisi Hamadi, Rashid Abdla and Lulu Hassan.
