Rich Mavoko’s confession after his private meeting with government over Wasafi Records

Celebrated Tanzanian Singer Richard Martin aka Rich Mavoko has confessed how he has learnt a lot hours after his private meeting with government officials over his contract with Wasafi Record Label.

On Thursday, Mavoko in company of his sister Nokii visited, the Music Regulatory Board Popularly known as BASATA to discuss the terms of his contract at Diamond’s Label Wasafi and registration as a solo artiste.

In his statement, Mavoko disclosed that BASATA had enlightened him enough on the way forward in terms of the contract he signed while joining Wasafi.

“Nimejifunza vingi ila la muhimu kabisa  nimeona Umuhimu wa kukaa karibu na  walezi wetu mana changamoto ni nyingi na  kuna mengi ila yote mnaweza yajua kama tukiwa karibu nanyi leo mmenipa maana ya neno mama ni mama ata kama ni kilema, ata iweje nyinyi ndo walezi wasanaa Yetu Niseme Tu Asante ” wrote Mavoko.

Seeking advice

According to the Secretary General at BASATA Godfrey Mngereza, The Hit maker of Kokoro, had reported that he is not contented with his contract at Wasafi and that’s why he was seeking advice from the Body.

“Swala la Rich Mavoko leo kuja katika Baraza la Sanaa kuwa ameleta Mkataba wake wa WCB ambao anahisi kuwa niwakinyonyaji  na inaumiza msanii. Na pia Rich amefika hapa na kusajiliwa kama msanii Binasfi na hivyo anakibali cha kufanya kazi kama Msanii. Kwa hivyo tutaupeleka mkataba wake kwenye Bodi inayoshughuli mikataba ya wasanii ili kuangaziwa Zaidi.”  said Mngereza

His move comes days after its was reported  that Mavoko had parted ways with WCB and is working as a solo artiste. Mavoko joined WCB Wasafi in June 2016.
