President Uhuru Kenyatta was among the dignitaries at Anne Waiguru’s wedding to long-time lover Kamotho Waiganjo where he made a special request to the bride.
Speaking during the traditional Kikuyu wedding (Ngurario), held at Kiamugumo High School, the President told the groom that he was marrying a wonderful lady who is not only hard working, but also committed.
He made a request to Waiguru to channel all her energies in ensuring that her husband is all smiles every time he comes home.
"Kamotho I can guarantee you that you have married a wonderful girl. She's a hardworking and committed woman.
"What's now remaining is that she should focus all her energies towards ensuring that he smiles every time he comes home," Uhuru said.
The head of state also told Waiguru that she was getting married to a reliable man who will always keep his word and should work towards making their union a success.
"Ann, you are also getting married to a fantastic man. He is a committed patriot of this country. He has worked hard for social justice and the Constitution that we have today.
"He's a person who cares for this country and his people. Show that very same commitment to your new bride. And with that I am sure you will live a happy and prosperous life," added Uhuru.
The two lovebirds exchanges their vows in a ceremony that was attended by Raila Odinga, James Orengo, CS Amina Mohamed, CS Michael Kamau, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, Rachel Shebesh, Sabina Chege and Senator Ledama Ole Kina among others.
