On Wednesday, Universal Music Group announced the signing of Top Africa Music stars Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania) Tekno (Nigeria) Mr. Eazi (Nigeria) and Stone Bwoy (Ghana).
Universal which is an international Music Recording label has divulged details of the lucrative deal the four musicians have signed.

Vanessa will be joining the likes of Diamond’s Platnumz who also operate under Universal.
Strategic division
According to an official statement from Universal Music Group (UMG), they are planning on launching a strategic division in Nigeria and that’s why they are signing more Africans to the Label.
This new strategic division, will operate from a new office in Lagos, under the leadership of seasoned music executive Ezegozie Eze Jr., who has been named General Manager of Universal Music Nigeria.
Eze and his team will support artists from Nigeria, Ghana, and Gambia throughout the continent and beyond, utilizing Universal Music Group’s global networks for wider discovery, marketing, promotion and distribution.
Eze, has previously held roles at Channel O Television, Empire Mates Entertainment (Banky W & WizKid) and was a founder of Pan-African creative companies, Republic 54, Alore Group, and Duma Collective.

He brings vital experience in the Nigerian music market and will report to Sipho Dlamini, MD, Universal Music South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
