The Tanzanian government through its regulatory body Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA) has banned Diamond and Rayvanny from performing in and out of Tanzania indefinitely.

This is following the performance of their banned hit single ‘Mwanza’ at the Wasafi Festival in Mwanza City on Sunday, 16th December 2018.

The board accused the musicians of being disrespectful and insolent after they performed the banned song. This ban comes days ahead of their Wasafi Festival concert in Mombasa that was slated for Boxing Day.

Ban of Mwanza

Rayvanny recently suffered a major setback after his brand new song ‘Mwanza’ that featured his boss Diamond Platnumz was banned hours after being released.

The new song was banned from being played on any TV and Radio stations in Tanzania or being performed in concerts on grounds that the song didn’t meet the required moral threshold for public consumption due to its raunchy lyrics.
