Following a successful 2018, “Mama Africa” Yemi Alade officially kicked off 2019 on a high.

Through her label Effyzzie Music Group, she released two brand new videos: OGA - a mid-tempo song produced by Egar Boi. Drawing influences from African kingdoms and royalties across Africa, the captivating music video was directed by Clarence Peters.

At the same time, she has also released a new record YAJI featuring street-hop titan Slimcase and Rebel Movement's rising star Brainee. The song was produced by Yung Willis.

The OGA music video sparked the #ogachallenge by her music fans and has so far garnered over 2 million views on YouTube while YAJI is at over 1 million views. Currently, Yemi is working on her fourth studio album.

Yemi made history this year with her smash hit single "Johnny" hitting the official digital 100 million views milestone on YouTube and VEVO. In 2018, Yemi released a number of hits that charted across the continent such as “Bum Bum”, “How I Feel” and “Oh My Gosh”. She also held sold-out concerts in her extensive and self-organized European Tour and also performed in several countries across Africa including Nairobi at the “Choma Na Ngoma” music concert and Koroga Festival.

Black Magic

Yemi Alade released her acclaimed third studio album “Black Magic” in December 2017 following the enormous success of her “Mama Afrique” EP and previous albums including: “Mama Africa: The Diary of an African Woman” and “King of Queens”. She is known for her un-matched, evolving African style and electric stage performances and is a 2-time winner at the MTV Africa Music Awards Best Female Act (2015 & 2016). She has been a regular feature at the International and African awards earning nominations for the Best International Act at the BET Awards two years in a row as well as Best International Act (2014 & 2015) at the MOBO Awards. Yemi made a return to Africa’s biggest music platform – Coke Studio Africa for the fourth time where she collaborated with French rapper of Congolese origin: Youssoupha Mabiki of the "Entourage" mega-hit.
