Professional career
He joined the public service as a District Officer, then Immigration Officer, Management Analyst, Director of Civil Service Reform Programme, Permanent Secretary/Director of Personnel Management (DPM) in the Office of the President, Secretary for the Teachers Service Commission and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture.
He also served as a member of the Governing Board of Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) – Arusha, Tanzania and as Vice-President (East African Region) of the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM).
Political career
He joined politics vying as the Governor for Kisii County in the 2013 general elections. He is affiliated to ODM and he will be battlingwith Chris Obure (Jubilee), Patrick Lumumba (Wiper), Omingo Magara (PDP), Boniface Omboto (Chap Chap) and Manson Nyamweya (KNC).
