How to avoid getting morning breath

Morning breath can become so rancid to the point where it may make you reconsider your relationship.

It is like a curse that is meant to equalize all before waking up and facing the different things we have to do each day.

Here are a few ways to get rid of that morning breath.

1. Run your toothbrush around your mouth before you sleep

This helps get rid of any food morsels that may be stuck in your teeth. Bacteria consume th food particles left behind, and they fuel bad breath by releasing sulfur compounds when they break down the foods.

2. Avoid breathing through the mouth

Saliva helps break down food particles still stuck in the mouth and removes them when you swallow. Saliva production decreases when you sleep. Breathing through your mouth helps create a dry zone where bacteria can thrive.

Try sleeping on your side or stomach.

3. Avoid alcohol

Alcohol dries out your mouth. Use non-alcoholic mouthwash before you go to sleep.

4. Gargle baking soda

Bacteria thrive in acidic environments. If you've eaten acidic foods, gargle some baking soda will help reduce the acidic levels in your mouth.

5. Brush your tongue

A lot of food particles can get stuck on the tongue. Use a tongue scraper to clean your tongue.
