Watch out, Dr. Pimple Popper fans: This one's chunky!
In a new Instagram video posted Wednesday, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD-aka Dr. Pimple Popper-treats a patient with a dilated pore of Winer.
What is a dilated pore of Winer, exactly?
Known as a DPOW among Dr. Pimple Popper's most avid fans, a dilated pore of Winer is essentially a really big blackhead. It was named for a Louis H. Winer, the doctor who first described the condition in 1954, according to a paper published in StatPearls .
Here's how Lee described dilated pores of Winer in the caption of a 2016 YouTube video :
"A Dilated pore of Winer is essentially a large, solitary open comedone/blackhead. Dead skin cells get trapped and help widen this pore, and plugs up the opening. The expression of this plug squeezes out the macerated, white, soggy keratin/skin cells from the deeper portion of the pore. Once the content of the dilated pore is expressed, this whole process of the dilated pore filling once again with keratin is common. They are completely benign and are usually expressed for cosmetic reasons. A comedone extractor can be used to do this."
And now, without further ado, it's time to watch Dr. Pimple Popper squeeze the living daylights out of this chunky dilated pore of Winer:
