Two children were on Wednesday arrested over claims of stealing Kenya Navy uniforms in Likoni, Mombasa County.

The police reported that the two were alleged to have stolen the uniforms from a cloth line at a Kenya Navy officer’s home in Mtongwe.

Benjamin Rotich, who is the Likoni police boss, stated that the suspects aged 13 and 15 years of age, would be arraigned in a children’s court.

“They will be charged with stealing and being in custody of Kenya Navy uniforms,” remarked Rotich.

According to the law enforcers, the two children are friends to the son of the officer whose uniforms had been reported missing.

The police boss pointed out that the two minors who are in class Eight and class Seven, had been set free after their parents were allowed to take them home but had to report to the Likoni Police station on Saturday.

The stolen uniforms had however been recovered from the suspects homes as investigation into the matter continued.
