Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has vowed to take National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders to court.

Nkaissery mentioned that he will take legal action against the Opposition heads for linking him to the controversy surrounding the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ballot papers tender.

Through his Communication Director Mwendwa Njoka, the CS highlighted that he was consulting his lawyer to know the appropriate step he ought to take.

"We wish to categorically state that the CS has nothing to do with IEBC and its procurement,"  Njoka emphasised.

Mr Njoka rubbished Oppositions’ claims noting that Nkaissery was only involved in setting up a secure General Election.

"Nkaissery has always focused on setting up systems to ensure the August election is held in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.

"NASA has consistently made wild unsubstantiated allegations besmirching reputations of innocent Kenyans all for cheap political gain," the CS said.

On Wednesday, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi together with other Opposition leader accused Nkaissery, Education CS Fred Matiang'i, Najib Balala (Tourism), Eugene Wamalwa (Water), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Devolution), James Macharia (Transport), Cleopa Mailu (Health), Energy Principal Secretary Joseph Njoroge (Energy) and Kenya Revenue Authority boss John Njiraini of illegally campaigning for Mr Kenyatta.

Mudavadi asked Director of Public Prosecutions to prosecute the civil servants.

"Take notice that if you do not take appropriate action against the said officers within seven days from the date hereof, NASA will have no alternative but to instruct our lawyers to institute private prosecutions against each and every one of the officers without further reference to you," Mudavadi said in a press conference.
