Evelyn Namukhula who made headlines last month after delivering 5 babies has passed on.
Reports indicate that the deceased complained of chest pains on Saturday at around 10PM and was admitted to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The deceased who has four other children with her husband passed on shortly afterwards.
The 28 year old gave birth to quintuplets through Ceaserian Section at Kakamega General Hospital on March 13.
Shortly afterwards, the newborns developed complications and were transfered to MTRH.
"My baby had trouble breathing and doctors at the Kakamega General Hospital decided to move us here (MTRH) so that the baby could get the help he needs." Namukhula told the media in a past interview.
MTRH CEO Dr. Wilson Arwasa said five ambulances were used to separately transport the babies, adding that their temperatures were still – however – very low on arrival but were later stabilised.
Medical practitioners who attended to her noted that the smallest of the babies weighed 840 grams at birth, falling way below the average of 3.5kgs.
