Unidentified gangsters on Friday morning shot dead 2 security guards during a suspected robbery incident at Nyabigege township in Kisii county.

Angry residents  pursued the gangsters as they escaped and torched one of the get-away vehicles used by the thugs.

Gucha South police boss Moses Kanyi confirmed the incident, adding that some of the robbers escaped on foot while the rest used the second vehicle.

According to witnesses, the robbers were targeting vehicle spare parts from tippers parked near the Kisii-Migori highway.

The robbers managed to escape with a few spare parts and some computers.
