Nairobi County askaris have started enforcing the new rules governing the movement of Public Service Vehicles in the Central Business District (CBD).
City Hall Director of Operations Peter Mbaya on his part said that the directive was working and there was no going back, despite some resistance from a section of Matatu operators.
New plan
In the new plan, only two PSVs would be allowed into the CBD for five minutes to drop passengers and another five minutes to pick up passengers at designated places and was expected to begin effective Monday, August 6.
“The Nairobi county government will from tomorrow (Monday) only allow 2 PSV vehicles per sacco into the CBD with each vehicle only be granted five minutes in the allocated slots to drop and pick passengers,” read a tweet from Ma3Route.
